Help Wanted!

Seniors, listen up! Despite the recession, there are still more than 2 MILLION job openings across numerous industries according to a recent government estimate. HOWEVER (you thought it would be THAT easy?), there are an average of 5 people competing for each of those jobs, up more than double the ratio for job openings that existed around December 2007. In a nutshell, this means there are DEFINITELY jobs out there...the problem is that the level of competitiveness for these jobs has increased greatly.

So what job industries have bright prospects in this otherwise dismal economy? Read this recent Associated Press article to find out.

Also, because the available talent pool for employers has increased in quality, it would be a good idea to talk to your counselors or visit the UCI Career Center to brush up your resume, cover letters, interview skills and anything else that will help you stand out from the pack.

Good luck!
